Relief sculptures, whether high or low (bas), can depict anything that can be drawn. They can conform to a specific space with borders, or create a fluid edge that adds to the liveliness of the artwork.

Because of the simplicity of the mold-making and casting for relief sculptures, they can also be far less expensive than in-the-round sculpture.
